Abu “Ambitious Tilapia” Kamoko, son of legendary Ghanaian boxer Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko, says he is out to prove many doubters wrong.
Despite facing such skepticism, Kamoko delivered quite his fair share of silencing at the Battle of the Beasts event, held at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, by beating Stephen Ackon in a thrilling bout at who won by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring in his favor.
The fight was organized by Sharaf Mahama’s Legacy Rise Sports in partnership with former world champion Amir Khan.
Speaking on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama after the win, the young boxer admitted that even people in his own neighborhood don’t believe in him and that is something that fuels his determination.

“You know, because of this fight, I couldn’t sleep. A lot of people don’t believe in me in our area, but I always told them I’d prove them wrong on the 13th of June and I did” Braimah said.
