West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspurs have made direct contact on an official level over a potential transfer of Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus from the former to the latter club.

According to English football insider David Ornstein, Tottenham made a 50 million pound for Kudus to West Ham on Saturday, July 5 but had the bid turned down by the Hammers.

Despite the bid getting rejected, he added that direct club to club discussions continue over a potential move for the 24 year old who is open to a move from West Ham to Tottenham.

Kudus remained a bright spot for West Ham despite the club’s disappointing 2024-2025 campaign that had the club finish 14th and replace Julen Lopetegui with Graham Potter as manager.

English Premier League clubs have until July 10 to activate Kudus’ 85 million pound release clause while teams in Europe could do same for 80 million pounds and clubs in Saudi Arabia can do same but for 120 million pounds.

🚨 West Ham United have tonight received an offer from Tottenham Hotspur to sign Mohammed Kudus. Bid worth £50m turned down but direct club-to-club talks continue. 24yo Ghana int’l prioritising #THFC if exits #WHUFC + personal terms no issue @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/OncWpXsltV
