GFA President Kurt Okraku has announced that the winner of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will walk away with a record-breaking prize of ₵2 million.

Speaking at the 31st Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association in Prampram, Okraku described the move as a “game changer” that will raise competitiveness and inspire clubs to push harder throughout the campaign.

“This is a story that has never been told, but today it’s being told,” he said. “It has been our gospel according to our Premier League. Every point is important, and now there’s ₵2 million as prize money.”

The GFA boss emphasized that the increased reward will create more excitement among the league’s 18 clubs and further motivate players, coaches, and fans to strive for excellence.

The ₵2 million prize represents the highest-ever payout in Ghana Premier League history, signaling the FA’s commitment to improving the financial incentives in domestic football.
