Former IBF Heavyweight Champion Daniel Dubois has fired his trainer Don Charles after almost a month after losing his fight against Oleksandr Usyk in July.
Dubois was knocked out by Usyk in the fifth round and failed to beat the count en route to losing the chance to become the undisputed World Heavyweight Champion.
Looking to the next chapter of his career after recording the third loss in his professional career, the 27 year old Dubois split from Charles on Monday, August 18. Charles had been with Dubois since 2023.
British fighter Dubois has picked Tony Sims as his new trainer; Sims has extensive experience as a trainer for British fighters.
He has been Conor Benn’s trainer since 2016 and worked with Anthony Joshua from 2013 to 2015, recently retired super middle weight contender John Ryder and super featherweight fighter Joe Cordina.
Dubois has been mentioned as a possible opponent for fast rising British heavyweight fighter Moses Itauma who recently blasted through Dillian Whyte for a first round knockout win.
