Despite missing out on a win over Ghana Premier League giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kpando Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford says he is fine with picking up a draw to maintain the team’s unbeaten start to the 2025-2026 season.
Four games into the league campaign, Kpando lead the standings with 10 points off three wins and a draw; Medeama rank second with nine points from four games.
Speaking in a post-game interview after Lions’ goalless draw against Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium, Bashir Hayford indicated that keeping the unbeaten run going was more important to him than even leading the standings.
“It was a very hard fought match and we split the points it is okay for me. It is not even [about staying at] the top, it is the unbeaten for the four matches [that we’ve played so far]. It speaks volumes so I like it that way” he said.

Heart of Lions take on Accra Hearts of Oak next with the Phobians also boasting an unbeaten record with two wins and two draws in four games to rank third in the league standings.
