Team Ghana finished with a bronze medal in the 4X100 Metre Relays in both the Men’s and Women’s division at the African Seniors Athletics Championships. (Scroll down to watch video)
This year’s Championships is taking place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium and is set to conclude on Sunday, May 17.
Ghana rolled into the finals as defending champions but finished in third place in the Men’s Division after running a time of 38.74 seconds.
Team Ghana missed out on the services of Benjamin Azamati who didn’t compete in the championships due to injury. Team Cote D’Ivoire won gold.
Abdul-Rashed Saminu, Edwin Gadayi, joseph Paul Amoah and Ibrahim Fuseini represented Ghana.

In the Women’s 4×100 Metre Relay, Ghana needed a blistering run from anchor leg Janet Kwarteng to clinch bronze.
Team Ghana finished third with a time of 44.85 seconds in a race Nigeria won.
