Tunisia’s Football Federation has officially dismissed head coach Sabri Lamouchi from his role after his appointment in January this year.
Lamouchi’s sacking comes on the back of Tunisia suffering an embarrassing 5-1 loss to Sweden in its opening game at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The loss represented the second game in a row that The Carthage Eagles had conceded five goals in a game after they suffered a 5-0 loss to Belgium in a pre-World Cup friendly game.

Following Lamouchi’s exit, the Tunisian Federation is set to appoint Mondher Kebaier who is a 56 year old former player who coached Tunisia from 2019 to 2022.

“An agreement has been officially reached to dismiss coach Sabri Lamouchi. Plans are under way to appoint Mondher Kebaier as the national team coach [on an interim basis]” a statement from the Tunisian Football Federation read.

Tunisia is scheduled to play Japan next on Sunday, June 21.
