Ghana has secured at least $13.5 million in FIFA prize money after reaching the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup.
The Black Stars confirmed their place in the knockout stage before their final Group L match, advancing under the tournament’s expanded 48-team format.

FIFA has set aside a record $871 million in total team payments for the tournament, including $655 million in performance-based prize money, $120 million in preparation funds, and additional support costs.
All teams receive $2.5 million in preparation funding. Teams eliminated in the group stage earn $10 million in performance payments, giving a minimum total of $12.5 million.
By reaching the Round of 32, Ghana is guaranteed at least $13.5 million, made up of the preparation fee plus $11 million for reaching the first knockout round.

Earnings increase with each stage: $15 million for the Round of 16, $19 million for the quarterfinals, $27 million for fourth place, $29 million for third, $33 million for runners-up, and $50 million for the champions. These figures exclude preparation funding.
The 2026 World Cup is the first to feature 48 teams and a Round of 32, introducing an extra knockout round and a new prize tier for advancing teams.
