American forward Christian Pulisic has described the United States of America National Men’s Football Team’s 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovnia as one that they had to dig deep to get.
The win over the European nation qualified Mauricio Pochettino’s team to the round of 16 stage where they are scheduled to take on Belgium.
Folarin Balogun and Malik Tillman scored in the win for USA but Balogun got sent off in the 64th minute after making a harsh challenge on Tarik Muharemovic.
Speaking after the game, Pulisic spoke about the strain Balogun’s dismissal put on the team and what it took to get the win.
“We had to dig deep for that one. It didn’t go exactly to plan with the red card, but that just shows what a good team we are.”

“We said in the hydration break, you know, this is what it takes to be a really strong team and we were able to do it” Pulisic said.

USA take on Belgium on Tuesday, July 7.
