Boxing promoter Frank Warren says the highly anticipated bout between British heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will go ahead despite continued uncertainty over the venue.
Joshua and Fury have been rivals for years, regularly trading words over who is the better fighter. Their long-awaited showdown was reportedly targeted for last year but was delayed after Joshua was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria.
Joshua was injured in the crash, which claimed the lives of two members of his entourage, forcing the former world champion to step away from boxing.
Speaking to Box Nation, Warren expressed confidence that a venue for the fight will soon be confirmed as discussions continue over where the bout will take place.
“They’re either going to agree to it or not. If they don’t agree to it then the fight won’t happen…They were supposed to have a warm-up fight in September [last year].”

“Unfortunately there was that terrible, tragic accident that AJ was in where he lost two of his best friends, and that held everything up but the fight I understand, will be November, and the venue will be announced in due course.”
