FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has described French side Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as a better team than his team.
He confessed this in a post-game interview after Barcelona lost 4-2 to PSG in a UEFA Champions League group phase game played in Paris.
Reigning Champions League winners PSG overcame injuries to three key players (Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia) in the game to score the impressive win.
The loss was Barcelona’s first in 12 games played in all competitions this season at the time of writing and Hansi Flick was confident his team learnt some lessons ahead of the El Clasico against Real Madrid on Sunday, October 25.
“It was a fantastic match. In the end, PSG showed that they are a better team than us. We lost this match, but we learned a lot from it. They have a lot of quality in transition.”
“We tried to defend against them, we did it well, but in those last fifteen minutes we weren’t fresh. We need to do better things in the future, but today we did some things very well” Flick said after the game.
