Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is expected to miss two to three months with a right knee injury, but his manager, Justin Holland, remains optimistic about the team’s prospects.
Edwards missed nine of Minnesota’s final 22 games of the 2025-26 regular season because of knee problems. Concerns resurfaced on Sunday, October 25, when he grabbed his knee during the Timberwolves’ win over the Toronto Raptors.
ESPN reported that the shooting guard was set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, ruling him out for an estimated two to three months.
Speaking to ESPN, Holland appeared to acknowledge the report, focusing on what Minnesota could achieve when Edwards returns after the team’s promising start to the campaign.

Edwards’ extended absence is also likely to rule him out of the 65-game threshold required to qualify for MVP and All-NBA honours this season, potentially costing him millions of dollars in his next contract.

“It’s not about individual accolades, All-NBAs, or anything like that. It’s a single focus — winning a championship. We’ve seen in a short time what the team is capable of, and know big things are ahead when all are 100%” Edwards said.
