England manager Thomas Tuchel says Cole Palmer “misses too many opportunities to impress” after leaving the Chelsea forward out of his squad for the November international fixtures.
Palmer, 24, will miss England’s Nations League matches against Croatia at Wembley on November 12 and Spain in Madrid on November 15.
Tuchel has instead handed first England call-ups to Fulham midfielder Josh King and Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham, both of whom operate in attacking midfield.
The England manager explained that he was satisfied with the players who featured during the previous camp and wanted to maintain continuity in the position.
“We have enough number 10s and we stick to the guys who were in the previous camp because we were happy with the two and a half weeks we had together,” Tuchel said.

He also highlighted King’s versatility, saying he wanted to assess the Fulham player on both wings.
“I guess everyone is desperate to play for England and Cole is no exception,” Tuchel added.
However, he stressed that players must take advantage of their opportunities when they are in camp.
“We are speaking now about a player that is not in camp. It counts when you are in camp and I just said last time that he misses too many opportunities to impress.”
Jobe Bellingham, 21, has been called up alongside his older brother Jude, creating the possibility of the pair featuring together for England.
They could become the first siblings to play in the same England line-up since Gary and Phil Neville.
