Our away form may not improve in the second round – Grant

Phobians have lost three of their four away games so far in the competition

Head Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kim Grant, is bracing himself for a tougher second round of the GFA Special Competition, especially when his side play away from home.

Hearts finished the first round of the competition with a 2-0 home win over Inter Allies, to move into the top 3 of the Zone B league table.

But it is their away form that has been suspect throughout the competition so far. The Phobians have lost three of their four away games, with their only away win coming against Liberty.

Kim Grant however is not guaranteeing an end to this trend in the second round, as he believes the class attached to the Rainbow club causes opposition teams to give their best anytime Hearts visit.

”We always try our best to win every game. We tried our best at WAFA and Karela, but it wasn’t to be,” he said.

“When teams face Hearts of Oak, it is like a cup final for them because every team wants to beat Hearts.

“So it makes it even more difficult for us because we have to try to break them down.

“It’s so annoying sometimes when you play all these away games and everybody just wants to beat Hearts, but it’s something we have to deal with.”

Hearts will begin the second round of the competition away in Tema, against Inter Allies on Sunday.
