[VIDEO] Coronavirus: African football stars take part in #SafeHandsChallenge

In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, public education on the practices that will keep people safe and help prevent the spread of the virus as been very intense across several platforms and media.

Health entities like the World Health Organisation (WHO) have, unsurprisingly, been sharing materials to teach the public on how to stay safe in these times.

Non-health entities have also been doing their part to help spread the word.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has been very active and on March 16, it shared an educational video of Coronavirus.

In addition, CAF has been sharing videos of former African footballers doing the #SafeHandsChallenge.

The videos are designed to educate football fans on the continent on the importance of washing hands as a way of battling the spread of the Coronavirus in the world. It was started by the WHO and several personalities including sportsmen and women from other countries have all pitched in.

In Africa, Former players like Anthony Baffoe, Vincent Enyeama of Nigeria, Wael Gamaa of Egypt, El Hadj Diouf and Khalilou Fadiga have joined the train and are seen sharing information on the washing of hands.

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected sports all over the world and CAF has been forced to postpone the 2020 CHAN tournament in Cameroon as well as the AFCON 2021 qualifiers on the continent.
