Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) President Abraham Neequaye Kotei has opined the great works from the authority is the reason behind world recognition for their efforts.
He said this on the back of being named as World Boxing Organization Africa President and the GBA being named as one of the Best Performing Federations at the 47th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards.
Speaking exclusively to CITI Sports, the administrator highlighted the professional boxing league his outfit has put together since he got voted into office in 2021 as a huge driver for the recognition.
“Well it is the good work that we are doing in Ghana that called the recognition of African and the world…everybody can see the good work that we are doing so what do you expect” he said.
Neequaye Kotei’s ascendency to the WBO Africa Presidency office was confirmed at the WBO Convention in Puerto Rico.
The heralded De-Luxy Boxing League was put together last year and plans are underway to have the 2023 edition take place later this year.
