Kojo Yankah declares intention to stand for GFA President

Kojo Yankah, the former chairman of the Western Regional Football Association, has revealed his intent to run for the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential election.

His decision puts him in direct competition with the incumbent, Kurt Okraku, who is seeking re-election when his term expires in October 2023.

Speaking on Onua TV, Yankah officially declared his intention to contest the GFA presidential election, stating, “I, Kojo Yankah, will be running for the GFA position in October.” With eight years of experience as the president of the Western Region FA and having served as a GFA Executive Council member during Kwesi Nyantakyi’s tenure, Yankah brings a wealth of football administration knowledge to his candidacy.

He further stated on Happy FM that his ambition is to make a significant impact on Ghanaian football as the GFA president.

“I am fully prepared, and the time has come for me to make a lasting impression on Ghana Football. The Ghana FA needs a fresh administration, and I am the right person for the job. People’s passion for Ghanaian football has waned, and I am determined to restore it,” he said
