Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidential aspirant Amanda Clinton has praised the works of GFA President Kurt Okraku but is at a loss over the incumbent President’s seemingly unwillingness to have his seat challenged.
Clinton said this in an interview on Citi FM’s Eye Witness News in the wake of aspirant George Afriyie’s GFA Presidential candidacy disqualification.
Afriyie appealed the decision but 2023 GFA Appeals Committee upheld the decision to disqualify him from running for the seat.
For Clinton, the challenges Afriyie is facing isn’t a good look on incumbent GFA President Kurt Okraku despite performing well in his tenure as GFA President.
“Optics wise, it’s going to look really bad because he is the incumbent. He’s done a fairly decent job because of COVID…so to sit there as a de facto dictator-like figure when last four years we had I think six contenders, does not showing anything of clearing the rot per se.

I think optics wise, it’s the worst decision he could have made because he is the incumbent so he really could have won in any case but he seems to be fearful for some reason.”
