A member of the Black Queens management committee, Gifty Oware-Mensah, says administrators of the team are making players feel loved and cared for.
She said this in an interview after the Black Queens secured its place at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations that is to be held in Morocco.
While past years have had members of Ghana’s National Women’s National Football Team complain about neglect, Oware-Mensah assures the present iteration of administrators are doing the opposite.
“Men and women are different; our games are so different and even at FIFA, our entitlements are different. What’s more important is for the girls to feel loved and cared for, which is being done. We are doing it for them now…so at this point, it’s just a matter of giving them their due.”
Ghana is one of four West African nations to qualify to next year’s AWCON in Morocco; 12 nations will compete in the tournament.
The Black Queens missed out on the previous edition also held in Morocco.
