Black Queens goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan Findib has opened up about her standout performances at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), saying she was mentally and physically prepared to deliver when called upon.

The shot-stopper was instrumental in Ghana’s impressive run, making crucial saves in the quarterfinal clash against Algeria and again in the third-place playoff against South Africa.

Her calm presence and sharp reflexes helped the Black Queens secure a historic bronze medal finish Ghana’s first WAFCON podium since 2006.

Speaking after the tournament, Konlan shared that readiness is key at the top level: “As a professional, you need to be ready for whatever happens in a game, so I was ready to step up for Ghana.”
