Pavel Kutashev says coaching Ghanaian swimmer Abeiku Jackson is not difficult since the 23 year old is a driven individual.
He said this after guiding Jackson to win Ghana’s first medal at the 13th African Games in swimming with Jackson winning silver in the Men’s 50 Metre free style.
Speaking in an interview, Kutashev touched on Jackson’s ability to win more medals because of his talent and added that coaching Jackson isn’t difficult.
“For me, it’s not difficult to be honest. He is a good swimmer, he understands what he is doing, he understands that he has goals, he understands that the country is counting on them (the swimmers).”
On Day One of the competition, Ghana missed out on a medal after having Harry Stacey finish fourth in the 100 Metre Free style event and the Mixed Relay Team also missed a spot on the podium.
Competition in swimming continues in the Women’s 4×200 Metre Free style Relay Final and the Men’s 4×200 Metre Relay Final.
Jackson is scheduled to compete in 100 Metre Butterfly event.
