Vice President of the Ghana Basketball Federation (Administration) Alex Kukula says the ongoing 3×3 Basketball competition at the 13th African Games in Ghana is one of the best events ever organized on the continent.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports following the conclusion of games on Day One at the University of Ghana Basketball Court.
The well attended event had an electrifying atmosphere and was watched by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, Ghana Basketball President Ato Van-Ess and FIBA Africa 3×3 Basketball Council Chair Ambrose Tashobya.
Despite Ghana experiencing an up and down production on the opening day of the competition, the federation Vice President talked about the program’s success.
“I think it’s fantastic. This is our first time hosting a 3×3 event like that and the feedback is great from people who’ve been around places and the compliments they’ve given us just takes some of the tiredness away. The 3×3 coordinators from Africa said this is one of the best that they’ve ever had.”

Ahead of Day Two of the competition, Ghana beat Madagascar 21-12 win but lost 4-21 to Egypt in the women’s division and in the men’s division, Ghana beat Benin 16-11 but lost 12-16 to Madagascar.
