African Sharks Swim Club coach, Isaac Gyamfi, has praised the performances of swimmers competing in the second edition of the Channel One National Swimming Championship.
He said this in an interview with Channel One after Day One of the two day competition taking place at the Borteyman Sports Complex that ends on Sunday, July 14.
Eight swimming clubs are competing for the title with Marlins Swim Club as defending champions having bagged 63 medals in the maiden edition last year.
However, in the wake of concluding matters on Day One of the championship, Gyamfi, who lamented the challenges involved in moving constantly the team’s Kumasi base to compete in Accra, commended the performances of the swimmers in this year’s edition. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“The performances of the swimmers have really been good” he said before touching on his team’s fortunes in the competition where he stated,
“As a coach you are always looking at what the next achievable goal is to get… so for us, we believe that we are on course and yes we did well to my satisfaction.”
African Sharks had Abena Akyeama Agyei finish third in the 100 Metre Girls 11-13 age category free style race.
