General Secretary of the Ghana Amputee Football Association, Mohammed Harmis Huzair, has called for all persons involved in the “Norway Scandal” must face the full rigors of the law.

He said this in an exclusive interview on Channel One TV in the wake of the scandal involving individuals representing Ghana’s Paralympic team who were billed to compete in the Bergren Marathon in Oslo, Norway.

However, nine of the 11 members of the contingent have absconded since arriving in Norway with one member apprehended while attempting to move from Norway to Sweden and another passing away after collapsing. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

These details were captured in a letter from the Ministry of National Security informing the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Integration.

National Paralympic Committee-Ghana President, Samson Deen denied the Committee’s involvement in this issue and the Ministry of Youth and Sports released a statement also to address the issue. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

On the scandalous issue, Huzair stated,

“It came as a surprise to us that we had issued a letter to the Norwegian Embassy requesting for visas for in preparation towards the Para Games in Paris but amputee football is not even one of the disciplines so I don’t see the essence of that letter.”

Samson Deen, President of National Paralympic Committee-Ghana

“This has to do with a bit of criminology and therefore we think that the appropriate authorities must come on board to thoroughly investigate the issues for a conclusion and then we also must make sure anyone found culpable must face the full rigors of the law.”
