Ghana’s dynamic youth armwrestlers, Blessed Naa Abeka Nunoo, Henry Otoo, and Daniel Acquah, showcased their exceptional skills on Saturday at the prestigious De Fin D’Annee Armwrestling Championship, held at the Stade Municipal de Lomé, Togo.

The event, organized under the auspices of Togo’s Ministry of Sports to celebrate the country’s success at the 2023 African Games, drew over 200 pullers from Togo, Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin, competing across various categories.

Blessed Naa Abeka Nunoo, currently ranked World No. 5 and Africa’s No. 1 in the Youth 60kg Women’s category, delivered a phenomenal performance.

Despite being significantly lighter, she triumphed over Togolese pullers Ako Assoli (86kg) and Charite Nukunu (94kg) in the finals to claim Gold.

Her victory highlights her remarkable strength, technique, and determination to become the best in the world.

In the Men’s 70kg category, Henry Otoo and Daniel Acquah put on a thrilling display, battling their way through the competition to face each other in the finals. The showdown ended with Otoo clinching Gold and Acquah earning the Silver medal, further emphasizing Ghana’s dominance at the event.

Following their outstanding performances, all three Ghanaian armwrestlers have automatically qualified for the 2025 edition of the De Fin D’Annee Armwrestling Championship.

Their success in Togo is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and Ghana’s growing prominence in the world of armwrestling.
