Head coach of Nigeria’s Men’s National Football that is made up of only Nigerian based players, Daniel Ogunmudede, says he is satisfied with his team’s goalless draw against the Black Galaxies of Ghana.
He said this in a post-game interview after the first of a two legged tie between the rival nations ended in a stalemate at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22.
The second leg takes place in Nigeria on December 28 with the winner set to qualify to compete at the 2025 CHAN that will be co-hosted in Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania.
Despite holding Ghana at bay, Daniel Ogunmudede admitted that his team was lucky not to concede away from home.
“Before we came here, we knew what we were coming to face in a team like Ghana considering the rivalry between the two countries. We knew how tough it would be whenever we meet on the stage so we expected a very tough battle…we are lucky and satisfied with the result we came out with.”
