Former head coach of Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team-the Black Queens- Nora Hauptle, has spoken on expectations that await her following her appointment as head coach of Zambia’s Women’s Football Team.
Hauptle’s appointment as head coach of the Copper Queens was recently confirmed and the Swiss trainer’s salary is expected to be covered by the Zambian Football Association and the Zambia Government.
In her address at her unveiling, Hauptle talked about meeting expectations following her appointment ahead of Zambia’s participation at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
“There’s so much potential I see in this team. And of course, I know the expectations are very high. The team already reached the bronze medal [at WAFCON].”

“We want to qualify for the big tournaments, be back at the World Cup and Olympics, and pass the group stage. These are the objectives… but we need to ensure that we do the right development steps.”

Hauptle is expected to win the 2025 WAFCON with Zambia that takes place in July. She her role with Ghana after the Ghana FA reportedly failed to meet her financial demands on a new contract after leading the Black Queens to qualify to the WAFCON.
