Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is rallying national support for Ghana’s Black Queens following their qualification to the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The team earned their place in the next stage after a tense quarterfinal clash against the Fennecs of Algeria on July 19, which ended in a 4-2 victory for Ghana through a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.

It marks the first time since 2016 that the Black Queens have reached the last four of the continental competition.

The Black Queens’ journey has inspired many Ghanaians, with supporters across the country applauding the team’s determination and unity.
