Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team eligible to only Ghana based players, the Black Galaxies, won’t compete at the 2025 CHAN.
The 2025 CHAN takes place from February 1 to February 28 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda with 16 nations set to compete.
Ghana failed to qualify after losing 3-1 on aggregate over two legs to Nigeria; the Galaxies crashed out at the 2022 CHAN quarterfinals.
By missing out on qualifying to compete in Morocco next month, Ghana has missed out on an improved kitty of $10.4 million allocated to the tournament by Africa’s governing body, CAF.
The above mentioned amount will shared among competing nations in the tournament with the winning country pegged to receive $3.5 million.
This amount is an improvement on what previous winners of the competition have received; 2021 winners Morocco received $1.25 million while reigning champions Senegal won $2 million for winning the 2022 edition.

Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso and Nigeria will represent West Africa in next month’s CHAN.
