Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Ange Postecoglou has expressed disappointment in his side’s performance in their North London Derby defeat to rivals Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
Spurs had taken the lead through captain Son Heung-Min before conceding two quick goals towards the end of the first half.
Postecoglou speaking in a post-game presser, the Aussie bemoaned his side’s ability to control the game.
“We were not good enough, especially the first half. We were just way too passive, we allowed Arsenal to take control of the game and I am just really disappointed with the way we were both with and without the ball and allowed them to dictate the tempo and paid a price for it. The second-half was a little bit better nowhere near good enough.”

The former Celtic coach also spoke about their season in a wider context and how his side needed to step up.

“There’s no magic cure here. You got to get up tomorrow and work hard and go into Sunday and prepare to go into battle and turn around our fortunes in our season. I mean there’s nothing that’s magical that’s going to change this. There’s always reasons for all these things to happen, but the reality of it is that our results and our form in the league has been nowhere near good enough and that needs to change.”

Spurs have been disappointing in the league this season and find themselves in 13th place 14 points away from the Champions League places. Spurs will travel to Goodison Park on Sunday looking to revive their faltering season against the recently hired David Moyes.
