Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman John Ansah, has indicated his high level of confidence that the Ghana Police Service will take some actions to address crowd violence before the Ghana Premier League resumes.
He said this in light of the violent clashes witnessed at the Nsoatreman-Kumasi Asante Kotoko league game that resulted in the death of Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong popularly known as Pooley.
John Ansah addressed the media after a behind closed doors meeting between the Ghana Police, Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Kotoko officials.
“This meeting came timely…in fact, he (the Inspector General of Police-George Dampare) has even started taking some decisions already and within the next couple of weeks, we will see it. I’m sure before the league resumes, we will see some action from the Police” John Ansah said.

Kotoko, the GFA and Nsoatreman have released statements condemning the violent clashes; Nsoatreman have since announced their withdrawal from competing in the league.
