Attram De Visser coach Godwin Attram has revealed that he requested a postponement of their MTN FA Cup semifinal against Golden Kick due to a sudden outbreak of illness among his players ; a request he says was denied by the FA Cup Committee.
In what had been a dream run for the Division One side, their campaign took an unexpected turn at TNA Park in Tarkwa on Saturday. According to Attram, eight of his starting players fell ill shortly after the team arrived at the match venue, forcing him to make wholesale changes to his lineup.
“We had eight players fall sick immediately after arriving here. We had prepared very well for this stage, but everything changed. We had to adjust the squad and bring in other players who are part of the team. I’m not making excuses, but I need people to understand the situation” Attram said in a post-game interview.

Attram added that he formally requested the match be postponed, but the committee refused.
“I called for a postponement of the game, but the committee said no; we had to play. If I hadn’t thought ahead to bring all 30 players in the squad, we might not have been able to play at all.”
