Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur has explained that strategic factors influenced the decision to host the quarter-final matches at the Cape Coast Stadium and Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

At Cape Coast, Dreams FC will take on Heart of Lions, while Attram De Visser face two-time champions Medeama SC.

Meanwhile in Bechem, Aduana FC will clash with Techiman Liberty Youth, as Nations FC battle Berekum Chelsea.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Arthur said the venues were chosen because of their proximity to the teams’ supporters and their ability to provide the necessary facilities for the games.

“The criteria we look at are two main criteria. One is proximity to supporters.
We consider proximity to natural supporters when we believe that the teams have significant normal population of supporters.

“So when you locate the game close to them, you’re likely to have full house, good ambience for a good game.

“The second criteria is if you don’t get a natural supporter, can you set it up in a location where you can get good pitch, good stadium facility and then put it on national TV so that you have access to millions of viewers” he said.

The eight quarter-finalists will play their matches at the Cape Coast Stadium and the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem on the weekend of March 13-16, 2026.

The specific Matchdays and Kick-Off times will be communicated in due course by the GFA.
