Immediate past President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Abraham Neequaye, has questioned the nobility of Sports Minister Kofi Adams and called for his resignation.
He made this call in a stinging and fiery address at a press conference that was directed towards the Sports Minister and National Sports Authority (NSA) Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
The call comes in the wake of Abraham Neequaye’s resignation from the position mere days before elective congress of the GBA that is scheduled for July 12.
Abraham Neequaye cited political interference as one of the reasons for his resignation and called for sports to be devoid of politics but added that, (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“After the [Sports] Minister had this report-on the death of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun in Ghana-he was supposed to give the GBA a report; why is he hiding it?”

“He is supposed to give the Nigeria Boxing Control a copy; why is he hiding the report? He is supposed to give the report to the media; why are you alone having the report and say you are going to do a reform?”

“What are you people hiding at the Ministry? The boxing family is bigger than you the Minister and you Yaw Ampofo. He-Kofi Adams- and the National Sports Authority [Boss], they know what they have done. If they are honourable men, by this time, they should be resigning.”
