Nations Football Club defender Razak Simpson has commended teammate Faisal Charwetey for having an outstanding season and believes that the youngster will have an even better season than the 2024-2025 season.
Competing in his debut season in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), 22 year old Charwetey scored 12 goals and added two assists in 30 league games after joining Nations FC from Akatsi All Stars.
Charwetey’s brilliant play as a second striker/ winger put Nations on the cusp of winning its first ever GPL title until a series of controversies in the penultimate game had Nations FC end the campaign in fifth place. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after bagging the Home-Based Player of the Year Award and Goal of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, Simpson praised Charwetey and envisaged a better campaign for him next season.

“He really impacted [the team] so much…he hasn’t played in the Ghana Premier League before but when he came in, he played so well. You will see him [play] better next season, he’s a top top quality player” Simpson said.
