Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach Abdul Karim Zito Kabutey has stated that winning the Toyota Cup is important to adding more relevance to the club’s brand.

He made this known in an interview with Kotoko media after the Porcupine Warriors beat South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs on penalties to win the title in South Africa.

Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara was the hero of the matchup after saving two penalties as Kotoko clinched their second pre-season title after beating archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak to win the President’s Cup and Karim Zito highlighted the importance of winning the club’s latest trophy.

“We coming down here it’s like just coming to pre-season so at the end of the day I felt if we are able to win this cup, it will also add some importance to the club so seriously we planned towards it that at least we should be able to win.”
