Bank of Africa Ghana has committed to support Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team, the Black Queens, in the wake of the team’s fine campaign at the recently concluded CAF Women’s AFCON in Morocco.
Earlier on Thursday, August 7, a high powered delegation from the Bank of Africa had a breakfast meeting with members of the Black Queens who won bronze at the recently concluded AFCON.
Midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe and defender Sandra Ama Duah were among the Black Queens players present for the meeting that had the financial institution pledge their support for the team.
“We are here to support you, we are very proud of what you did” Abderrahmane Belbachir, Managing Director of Bank of Africa, stated.

On her part, Laila Pentsil, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication, said, “We are looking to partner and do a lot more with these great women of Ghana. It’s not just a board room activity, we are taking it to the stadium as well. We are going to support the women”

“We are a bank that supports sports…we want to hear your name in history beyond what we’ve heard today and we want to see greater from all of you” Bank of Africa Ghana Group Head, Human Resource and Administration, Kojo Van-Ess added.

The Black Queens are scheduled to play in a two legged tie against Egypt to determine qualification to next year’s Women’s AFCON; semifinalists in next year’s competition will qualify to the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
