Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot has confirmed that striker Alexander Isak has picked up a groin injury which puts his chances of playing in the club’s English Premier League game against Brentford on Saturday, October 25 in serious doubt.
Isak featured in Liverpool’s 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt but exited the contest in the 46th minute and was replaced by Federico Chiesa; Slot stated that Isak’s injury was connected to the groin after the game.
“He had to go off at half time because he felt his groin a little bit. That’s a pity. I’ve said many times, it’s such a difficult balance to find with a player that missed three months.”

“You bring him slowly, people sometimes argue with you, why you cannot play him longer or more often.

“Now we’ve played him for the second time in three days and he has had to go off. It’s not an easy balance to find if a player has been out for so long” he said to TNT Sports.

Since joining Liverpool late in the off-season for an EPL transfer record fee of £125 million with the chance to reach £130 million from Newcastle United, the Swedish striker has played in eight games in all competitions and registered a goal and an assist.
