Arsenal F.C. striker Viktor Gyökeres has urged his teammates to improve after their disappointing home defeat to AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League.
Arsenal fell 2–1 at the Emirates Stadium, a result that halted their chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
The Gunners remain first, nine points clear of second placed Manchester City, although City have two games in hand.
Gyökeres netted Arsenal’s only goal from the penalty spot, taking his league tally to 12 goals in 30 appearances, and expressed his disappointment in an interview with the BBC, calling for a stronger response from the team going forward.
“It was a very important game. Of course it hurts. They’re good on the counter-attacks. They have good players and did some good combinations but we need to do better.”

“We had some chances in the end. The pitch was a bit dry which didn’t help. I’m very confident. We don’t need to get stuck too much on what happened today. We need to look forward and be positive” Gyokeres said.
