Carlos Queiroz has officially arrived in Ghana to begin his high-stakes assignment as head coach of the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The veteran tactician touched down at Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday, April 22, marking the start of a short-term four-month deal focused entirely on delivering results at the global showpiece.
Unveiling set for Thursday
Queiroz will be formally introduced to the public on Thursday, April 23, at the Alisa Hotel during a 1:00 PM press conference.
Following the unveiling, the Ghana Football Association is expected to present him to Sports Minister Kofi Adams as part of official protocol.

With time not on his side, Queiroz is expected to move quickly:
- Finalising squad plans
- Assessing player fitness and form
- Preparing for crucial friendlies against Mexico and Wales in early June
Few coaches bring the pedigree of Carlos Queiroz:
- Managed at four FIFA World Cups
- Former boss of Real Madrid
- Former assistant at Manchester United

His appointment signals a deliberate shift toward experience as Ghana prepares for a demanding campaign in North America.
Queiroz will not be working alone.
He is expected to be supported by:
- Roger De Sa (assistant coach)
- Additional technical staff with international experience
Together, they form a team tasked with quickly building cohesion and competitive edge.
Drawn in a challenging World Cup group, the Ghana national football team are under pressure to deliver.
