After an interesting late push on transfer deadline day on Tuesday, September 1, Manchester City have officially signed Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea.
The Argentine joined City from Chelsea on a five year deal that is set to end in 2031 for a staggering £125 million which marked the second time in Fernandez’s career that he joined a club for a transfer fee worth over £100 million in connection to his move from Portuguese side SL Benfica to Chelsea.
The transfer reunites Fernandez with former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca and in his first official interview as a Man City player, Fernandez said,
“Manchester City are the most successful club in England in recent times. Every player wants to be part of a club like this because everyone knows how well-run City are.”

“I could not be happier to be here, and I am ready for the challenge of helping City continue winning trophies. This is a club built for success. I want to take the faith shown in me and repay it as soon as possible.”
