Ghana center Nathan Mensah has ended his run at this year’s NBA Summer League on a high note while aiding Charlotte Hornets record a 109-92 win over Minnesota Timberwolves.

The win was Hornets first in the preseason tournament mainly designed for first and second year players in the NBA. Charlotte ended the tournament with just a win in five games.

Mensah played 19 minutes off the bench in the win and registered 14 points, six rebounds and an assist while converting six of seven field goal attempts. (Click highlighted text to watch game highlights)

The 25 year old impressed in his first outing and had his name chanted by Hornets fans in Las Vegas who wanted to see the former San Diego State University player in action. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

In an interview with the NBA prior to the Minnesota game, Mensah said, “It’s an opportunity that as a kid, I was hoping to get and play for an NBA organization. I’m blessed to get this opportunity through the Charlotte Hornets.

I was always a defensive guy and I’ve always relied on my defense to get me places… and I’d like to do the same here”.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Mensah will be hoping his performance in the Summer League in limited minutes, will get him into the main team for the 2022-2023 season.
