Deputy Captain for Ghana’s Black Queens, Jennifer Cudjoe, says the team shares a common goal of qualifying for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations next year in Morocco.

The Queens missed out on the last edition, but this time they have to beat Namibia in the final round of qualifiers in two legs.

The Black Queens will take on the Gladiators of Namibia on Friday, November 30, 2023, in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, before heading to Windhoek for the second leg tie.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, November 30, Jennifer Cudjoe revealed the girls have one thing to do against Nambia, which is to secure qualification.

I think some of us have not been to the WAFCON before, this will be my first time, so the conversation amongst us, is that,  what it will be like to be playing at the WAFCON next year.

It’s been a long time we qualified to the tournament, it is a conversation that keeps coming everytime, everybody knows why we are here today.

This is the time we can use to get back to Africa again, we all want to be there, it is everybody’s goal to qualify for the tournament next year.

Nine games, nine wins, 31 goals scored, zero goals conceded: Nora Hauptle has made a flying start to life as coach of Ghana’s Black Queens.

The Swiss Gaffer will look to add to the numbers and secure qualification to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations next year in Morocco.
