Ghana Football Association’s Technical Director, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, has shared his aspirations for the legacy he wants to leave when he concludes his new role.

Mintah, previously the Director of Coaching Education, discussed various challenges in Ghana football under the Kurt Okraku administration during his inaugural statement.

The University of Northern Iowa, USA alum, now replacing Bernhard Lippert, expressed on the Ghana Football Association’s YouTube Channel that defining a cohesive style of play across national teams is among his key objectives.

“The legacy, I will like to leave is to a Ghanaian playing like a Ghanaian.”

“What I mean, by that is that, we possess to attack, we possess to defend, we transition based upon the principles of play in the moments of the game.”

“So we should play good football, both attacking & defending, and still be getting the results, and that is where I want to see Ghana be at, by the time I leave this seat as the Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association.”

Professor Mintah, as the Director of Coach Education for the Ghana Football Association, played a pivotal role in overseeing strategic planning, sporting direction, and the implementation of tactics and formations across all age levels.

His focus extended beyond individual match victories to ensure continuous player improvement from one age group to the next.

Professor Mintah, also the former Team Psychologist for the Black Stars, holds an Elite CAF A Instructor License Certificate from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
