Ghana center Amida Brimah has moved to first place in the blocked shots category in NBA Gatorade League (G-League) history.

The former University of Connecticut player blocked three shot attempts in Santa Cruz Warriors 102-88 win over G League Ignite.

Brimah played 31 minutes as a starter and registered 10 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and three blocks in the win.

His blocked shots tally moved him past Raphiael Putney’s record of 344 denials; in the lead up to the game against Ignite, Brimah was tied with Putney with 344.

Amida Brimah’s record now stands at 347 blocks overall (345 in the regular season) making him the outright leader in the basketball defensive category.

Brimah has been in and out of the league after spending time with Austin Spurs and Indiana Mad Ants while playing for teams in Europe notably in France and Belgium.

The 6 foot 10 inch center has had short NBA stints with the Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers after going winning the national college basketball championship in his first year at the University of Connecticut.
