The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ghana remains tight lipped despite increased calls for the Embassy to release the letter that a group of purported Ghanaian para-athletes used to process visas to travel to Norway to compete in the Bergren Marathon in Oslo but nine ended up absconding with one apprehended and another dead.
The scandal blew up exactly a week ago when Ghana’s Ministry of National Security documented the actions of the alleged para-athletes in a letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

On his part, Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, stated that he won’t take responsibility for the chaos created because due processes weren’t followed in this case and chastised the Norwegian Embassy for not contacting the Ministry for verification. However, per the BBC, the Norwegian Embassy indicated that it doesn’t comment on individual cases like the latest travel related scandal to rock the Ministry of Sports due to “confidentiality”.
