Atletico Awajun striker Sebastian Munoz received his marching off orders in the strangest and somewhat controversial way after he looked to have urinated in the course of a game.

Munoz was shown a red card in the game involving Awajun and Cantorcillo FC as he looked to have peed close to the corner area of the pitch while waiting for Cantorcillo FC’s goalkeeper to get medical attention.

His back was turned against the goal mouth action but his “washroom experience” caught the attention of Cantorcillo players who alerted the referee. The section Munoz faced at the venue had no fans.

The referee proceeded to show Munoz a straight red card to a shocked Munoz who protested his innocence to no avail leaving Awajun to complete the game with 10 men on the pitch.

Atletico Awajun play in the Peruvian third division and are competing in the Copa Peru playoffs; at the time of writing, Peruvian football authorities had not commented on the issue that has caught the attention of the football world.

Munoz however, isn’t the first footballer to get dismissed for urinating during a game as Salford goalkeeper Max Crocombe got sent off for doing same in a National League North match in 2017.

Scroll down to watch video of Munoz’s expulsion.
