Algeria and Cameroon confirm qualification to 2025 AFCON

Two more nations have confirmed their qualification to the 2025 AFCON in Morocco ahead of another round of qualification games on Tuesday, October 15.

Algeria and Cameroon booked their spots in next year’s AFCON that runs from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 in Morocco.

Algeria beat Togo 1-0 in Lome to move to 12 points with two games remaining in the Group E qualifiers; the winning goal was scored by Olympique Lyon’s Said Benrahma.

In Group J, Cameroon beat Kenya 1-0 to maintain its lead atop the group with 10 points; Cameroon’s closest rival in the Group, Zimbabwe, have eight points with two games remaining in the qualification phase.

The pair joins Burkina Faso as the qualified teams to the 2025 AFCON aside host nation Morocco; Burkina Faso was the first nation to qualify to the upcoming competition.

A handful of nations are on the verge of securing qualification to the 2025 AFCON including Angola who take on Niger on Tuesday, October 14 at 16:00 GMT in Group F.

In the same group, Ghana needs a win over Sudan to stay in qualification contention.
