GFA vows to decisively deal with issues stemming from Nations FC- Holy Stars Chaos

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that it has officially commenced investigations into the chaos that ensued in the game between Nations Football Club and Basake Holy Stars.

The football body issued a statement on Tuesday, June 3 to this effect and announced that association will deal with all issues arising from the issue “expeditiously” and “decisively”.

Nations headed into the penultimate round of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League season needing a win in one or their last two games to clinch the league title.

However, Nations abandoned its tie against Basake in the first half while trailing 1-0 scored via a converted penalty kick attempt.

Nations had heated discussions on the field with game officials and opposing players after a second penalty was awarded to Basake before abandoning the game.

With investigations into the latest controversy to rock the Ghana League, the GFA urged all parties involved to fully cooperate with the investigations.

GFA Investigating Reported Incidents of Violence at Holy Stars – Nations FC match

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken note of reports of violent incidents that occurred during the Ghana Premier League match between Basake Holy Stars and Nations Football Club played over the last weekend.

The Association has commenced a thorough investigation into the reported incidents.

The GFA wishes to assure all stakeholders, including clubs, players, match officials, supporters, and the general public, that it remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the game and will deal with all issues arising from this matter expeditiously and decisively.

We urge all parties involved to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigations. Further updates will be provided in due course.
