Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has underlined the key criterion the team will look to satisfy as it looks to close out its transfer dealings before the transfer window closes on August 31.

In a press conference, Slot addressed multiple issues including the injury situation in Liverpool’s camp where he reported that Dutch international wing back Jeremie Frimpong has picked up a hamstring injury that rules him out till mid-September. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Despite signing the likes of Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, Liverpool have seen the exit of Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrell Quansah and Darwin Nunez.

The defending EPL champions are in the hunt for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi but for Slot, any Liverpool target must meet one major condition.

“What I can tell you is not a lot. I am really happy with the squad but if we think we can improve in a certain position and there is a player available that can really make us better… this club has always shown they will bring these players in but only if they are everything we want” Slot said.

Liverpool take on Isak’s Newcastle on Monday, August 25 at St. James’ Park.
